6 short random facts about my life in france!

Hey everyone :)
I know I've already done a post for today but I thought I'd do this one anyways ! :D

1. The French seem to eat Nutella with EVERYTHING! Crepes, bread, waffles, you name it they'll eat it ! I swear my host brother would eat it all the time if he could...

2. Like ALL of my teachers have insanely messy handwriting ! :( It's so annoying because when you don't know the words you just write down what you think it is.. it's NEVER right I swear, like sometimes the kids in my class take my work and are like wtf were you thinking?! It's just so hard !

3. OUI it's true they kiss people twice on the cheek when greeting each other.. at the start it was so weird.. you know randoms coming up to you and kissing you on both cheeks and being like " Salut, ca va" and you have no idea who they are but they are being friendly so you're like "oui, bien merci et toi" but now it feel so normal! Although I miss hugs soooooooooooooooooooooo much! If you think about it AUSTRALIANS HUG like a full on hug now that kinda seems weird..

4. Alors, donc and volia they will never stop saying.. I swear even if you paid them!

5. Something that really freaks me out about some of the kids at my school.. after they go to the toilet they don't wash their hands! And sometimes they go eat afterwards... yuck! Sorry that is seriously disgusting!

6. They eat BIG meals whereas we snack, beaucoup. They have a smallish breakfast, big lunch and normally a big dinner too..And normally with their meals they have a starter then the main then a bread roll then cheese then dessert so it's like..wow I'm so full and I've only at the starter.

Désolé, mais c'est tout ce que je pouvais imaginer.
Je vous écrirai à nouveau bientôt.
xoxo

zap bob pop electric shock! NEIGE ! NEIGE! NEIGE!

Hio everyone :)
These last few weeks have been amazinggggg !
Last Thursday the New Zealand exchange student, the other Australian exchange student and I didn't go to school and instead went to Toulouse :D Best day ever! Falling down stairs, eating maccas for breakfast, taking hundreds of photos, meeting Usher, getting lost and getting a guy do draw us a map, eating HEAPS of real good food, watching angry teenagers protest :O, revisiting the shop where I got my wallet stolen and buying the boots! It was just a really really good day. :) Last weekend I went to Toulouse with some girls from school and we went to the new H & M- soooooo good! I bought a bag from there and these little white shoes from another shop called i ♥ mode.. i think its called that... haha :) anyways Toulouse is so pretty right now because it's all decorated and everything for Christmas and they put those white icycule lights(no idea how to spell that) on the capital building! The Christmas market there is pretty cool too and so pretty at night. OMG on Monday the most amazing thing happened it SNOWEDDDDDDDDD! Yeahh like it was falling from the sky :O Most beautiful thing ever.. I was like in class and it just started !!! Unfortunately not again today but Thursday hopefully yes! I REALLY hope though that it actually snows like HEAPS so then the ground will be like snow! Wouldn't that be awesome.. because Monday it was just falling a little.. but still amazing! 3 more days left of school before Christmas holidays! YEAH! I miss Australia soooo much I'm so excited to go back in Jan. Tomorrow after school I'm going with the other exchangerrrrs and some friends I'm going to eat at le claire :) MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! le sapin. - christmas tree ♥

salutttttttttttt :)

so back to school for monday:|Last weekend i went to my first game of french football (our soccer) at toulouse. It was really cool, we won 1-0 yay! The stadium was really big but the actual playing ground seemed so small compared to the MCG. We had really good seats and were right up front which was good. I went with Eric and Aymeric and 3 other guys that they are friends with.Yesterday I went to Ikea to get the Christmas tree :D Then after we had Eric's work party which was awesome because it was like the melb show but everything was free! So I went on soooooooo many rides with Aymeric :) and after I went into Toulouse and met with my YFU rep. At school atm there are 2 other exchange students! One is a 16 year old girl from Aus and the other is a 16 year old guy from New Zealand. We all ate together on Friday and are going to do something all together soon :) It felt amazingly good to have a convo with someone face to face in english and not have to think about now how am I gunna say this so that they understand! hahahah :)Today we set up the Christmas tree and all the decorations in the house, we also made waffles, crepes and pancakes! :O so good....! And we went to the mass library in Toulouse.

-à bientôt!

feelingblue.

Hey everyone, so this weekend was CRAZY! I spent all of Saturday in tears and I'll tell you all about my weekend now. Well friday night i went shopping with a friend in Le Clares which was fun. It was her birthday :) At H & M I bought.. a face and body bronzer, a betty boop makeup bag, a brush, vanilla body lotion and liquid foundation and I also bought at another store a Miss Den Paris Powder which is really good :) ♥ All up it was about 25 euro so 50ish Australian. Anyways Saturday I
was going to Toulouse with some friends from school but turns out only one of them could now go, (because some were sick etc...) but she still wanted to go anyway so we did. So we were having such a great time going to new look, zara, h & m everywhere! We decided to catch the metro into the center of Toulouse to go down this
steet of shops. When we arrived we went to this shoe shop she knew of. The shop was asian and had the nicest shoes ever and for really good prices too. It was really small and cramped with people and had shoes up to the ceiling! I found a pair of ballet flats for 10 euro that I decided I was going to buy. Then I found the most perfect pair of boots ever! For only 25 euro!! I had to buy them so as I was trying
them on i went to look inside my bag, for how much money I had and then I saw my wallet was missing and I realised someone must have taken it! :O So I was like in a panic started crying and was freaking out because i had my bank card and like 140 or something australian dollars :S so me and my friend left and the next day i went to the police station with my host family.. i haven't got my wallet back but i honestly doubt thats EVER going to happen... doesn't matter life goes on :)
will write again soonnnn xoox Laura

2 month mark.

Hey everyone, :)
Sorry i haven't been writing lately, so yesterday it was offical i've been in france for 2 MONTHS ! ♥ Can you believe it? It's gone soooooooo quickly! But it was actually a pretty depressing day for me because I realised I only have 3 months left and I still can't speak or understand french as much as I'd like to. IT SUCKS! I've been trying so hard and I'm just sick of it. School, long lessons, just everything. Lucky we have holidays after school on Friday :D Anyways people keep telling me wow, your french has really improved like people at school etc.. but I just can't see that it has, I really can't. I want to be able to speak and write and understand so badely right now, but I can't see that happening anytime soon. This Friday I'm going shopping at Le Clair with Elisa from school. She doesn't speak that much english so I love trying to speak with her in french. :) Not last weekend but the weekend before I went with some friends to Toulouse and after to Alice Polle's house it was great to see Toulouse again. This weekend my host mum's neices Matile and Maude (8 and 5 years old)are coming down from Nimes to stay with us for one whloe week. Which should be great because I LOVE little kids especially my cousins...I'm also going to Toulouse this weekend again for shopping and a movie for Elisa's 15Birthday :D which should be fun! Anyways will write more now as I'm almost on HOLIDAYS !!!!!!! ♥♥♥ Love always Laura Au revoir xoxo p.s PLEASE listen to: Good girls go bad by Cobra Starship ft. Leighton Meester and Comme des enfants by coeur de pirate (my favourite songs atm) ☻

The photos I promised :)!

a good weekend...

Hey everyone!♥
This weekend was reallyyyy really good because we went to Albi for the day, so I thought I'd tell you all about it! So Friday night my host family invited 2 familes over for dinner and that was really good. We ate pizza for dinner and icecream :)♥
The next day I went and got my hair cut and now it's really short!!! arghhh which freaks me out a bit but anyways... then I went with my host family to a library in Toulouse thats like 3 levels and is insanely big! You can watch a movie there, hire books, dvds, cds.. they seriously have like everything. Just the first floor is filled with childrens books and they even had tiny computers with little chairs that kids that looked around 2 or 3 years old were playing on!!! The best part was, was that everything was in french! Which I loved.....! Then after that we went shopping in St Claires which was fun also. I bought a perfume and some tights :) On Sunday
we went to a famous town called Albi with another family, which is about 1 hour away from where I live. It was soooooooo beautiful at first we went to this cathedral
which was sooo pretty and then we went for a walk all along this area. We went to a beautiful look out area with this amazingly pretty garden and views of the water, old bridges and houses. We ate afternoon tea there and the weather was just perfect. Next we went to Albi Cathedral which was designed to be a fortress in Cathar Country. Construction on the Cathedral began in 1282 under the direction of Bernard de Castanet (1277-1307), who was Bishop of Albi and Chief Inquisitor. Construction was mostly done by 1383, but was not fully complete until 1492. The Albi Catherdral was just magnificent and is probarbly the most amazing Cathedral I have ever seen in my life. And to just begin to describe it, you can't. You must see it for real to experience its true beauty. Anyways I better go and get ready for school! Have a good day!♥ Au revoir, love always Laura xoxo
